Clairvoyant Mediumship Demonstration at Bognor Regis Spiritualist Church |
Spiritualism means the ability to communicate with the dead or at least that is what it says in the dictionary, of course there is no death because the spirit lives on forever. Many who are spiritualists prefer to call themselves clairvoyant psychic or mediums or just spiritually aware and tapped in to using the latent gifts of the spirit and sixth sense.
There are spiritualist churches where it is possible to meet others who are aware of spirit and are of a like mind. The spiritualist church is a religion but they took this status more to become a charitable organisation to avoid paying taxes, so many spiritualists think of their religion as more of movement for those seeking to progress spiritually or seeking messages and the proof of survival of the continuation of all life in spirit, as well as to seeking the guidance and philosophy of spirit. I myself have spent a lot of time with spiritualist and have learnt a lot from them, but do not consider myself a spiritualist or as belonging to their religion.
These days I go sometimes to healing and the odd service. I have been a healer as well as sitting in a spiritual awareness circle at the church. I have found most of the mediums that come to give messages in services or private sitting to be very good, yes some are better than others, but I would say they get somewhere in the region of 50% to 100% of their messages correct, which is fairly good, so you know they have reached a reasonable quality of mediumship and are reliable and not doing it for the money, rather they are doing it to be of service.
Unlike some who charge to make a living out of it and it is not very often that you ever get a charlatan in a spiritualist church because they would be found out quickly if they were giving cold readings. A typical service often consists of the medium giving a spiritual or related talk or reading with hymns and prayers, followed by a 30 minute demonstration of mediumship giving message to the congregation and the service lasts in total one to one and a half hours. As for healing service the healing lasts 15 to 30 minutes normally and often they have refreshments. I would recommend the spiritualist church to anyone seeking more answers or enlightenment as well as a message from a loved one who has crossed over, but we do need to be patient and in the meantime you and listen to the inspiration of spirit.
