Introduction

This section is a step by step guided meditation that teaches how to open the spiritual chakra's and psychic perception energy centers, along with opening up perceptions and clairvoyant abilities to perceive and communicate with spirit and spiritual guidance. If you have not meditated in this manner before it is strongly recommended that you firstly read the page on "Perceptions of Spirit & About Grounding & Protecting Yourself" so that you will have an understanding of what to expect, including what feelings and effects spirit have on us during this kind of meditation, to go to the Perceptions page click HERE

Preparing for Meditation

When meditating, firstly make sure you are sitting or lying comfortably and securely, as it is possible that during meditation you may lose conscious feelings of both your body and surroundings and our spirit mind might travel elsewhere within the meditation or as we sleep and have dreams that spirit can be part of our dreams taking us on a journey. Feelings of floating and travelling out of the body and being taken on journeys by spirit often happen as progression takes place. You should consider opening your meditation by sending out thoughts to your spirit guides, asking for the light and protection to be put around yourself and also asking to be spiritually guided throughout your meditation, if you wish you can also open your meditation with a prayer.

Points to remember during meditation are to relax and allow your mind to drift and be as still and open as possible, this can take time and a lot of practice. Put trust into your spirit guides and except that they are only there to help you and give what is appropriate for you to receive at this time, it will help greatly towards finding the right state of mind and will help spirit to link and pass the perceptions that are most befitting for yourself. Spirit communicate with us by impressing their thoughts onto our minds, so we need to relax and relinquish control of our mind to allow a spirit to pass these thoughts into our minds. When meditating try not to restrict yourself by only thinking of one person within spirit who you wish to come to you, as this can restrict others in spirit who wish to or are meant to come to communicate with you and in effect by only thinking of one you will be blocking others out. Loved ones in spirit are always close to us here and they will come close to communicate with us when the time is right.

To begin the meditation relax closing your eyes, taking several deep breaths clearing your mind and visualize a bright white ball of light forming above your head, allow this light to grow and expand, as it does so it envelops you and surrounds you fully, within it are healing and protective energies to give you upliftment and it forms a protective barrier that helps to keep negativity and disharmonies away. Now relax and allow yourself to feel the safety and protection of the light, see if you can sense its energy and its uplifting and calming rays.

Grounding & Protection

To ground yourself helps to clear the seven main chakra's and many hundreds or thousands of mini chakras called Nadis and it helps clear our body and mind of negativities. To ground yourself imagine roots growing out the bottom of your feet going deep down into the earth, they bind you to the earth and are very secure. Then draw energy from the earth up through the roots into your being, you may see this energy as an earthly colour brown or maybe red or terracotta, once it has filled you allow it to cleanse and ground you, see the energy cleansing your whole mortal and spiritual body and chakra's, now allow the energy to slowly sink back into the earth through your feet back down the roots, taking all negativities and disharmonies away with it.

To Protect yourself, now see a bright white light coming into you from above coming into the top of your head, let this light fill you, you may feel it's energy, it fills you until it overflows out of the top of your head and fills your aura, allow this light to surround you and become like a big bubble that goes over the top of your head and below your feet, if you want to you can allow this bubble to grow and surround your whole home or place where you are going to meditate. This white light will help to protect you and keep out negativities and disharmonies, it can be used to protect yourself and keep out negative spirits or it can protect you when you are with someone who has negativities or disharmonies such as depression that you are taking on from them or from spirit.

Opening the Chakra's & Spiritual Psychic Energy Centers

Now we are going to open the seven main spiritual chakra energy and psychic perception centers. In this meditation I will give an example of some of the colours that can be used to open the chakra's, these colours can vary from one individual to the next, but the colours used here are generally the excepted norm.

Firstly we will open the base or root chakra situated at the base of the spine and then work our way up opening all the main seven chakra's. In this case we will see the base or root chakra as a small ball of Red coloured light and energy, visualise this chakra 2 to 4 inches in size. Now visualise this ball of Red energy growing in diameter and visualise it as though it is a flower that is still tightly in bud or as a lantern turned down low. As you open the chakra visualise it as the bud opening into a fully blooming flower or as a lantern being made brighter, allowing the energy center to open and expand.

This allows the spirit to sense and perceive beyond the normal senses and raises the spirits level of vibration and allows for the spirit to attune to use the sixth senses. As you open the chakra, draw in a deep breath of this energy, breathe this colour deeply all the way into your lungs and let it fill your body and spirit. As you breathe it in you feel it's revitalising and healing energies, hold it in for a few seconds and then slowly breathe it all the way out, allowing all your daily worries and cares to flow out from you with it. This will help you to find the quieting and tranquillity of mind that is preferable for spiritual meditation of this kind that is somewhat like a peaceful daydream like state of mind, where the subconscious can drift more freely free from the conscious minds control. Breathe this energy and colour in deeply 3 to 6 times filling yourself with this colour.

Repeat this exercise in the following chakra's using the colours and locations described.

Next open the Sacral chakra in the same manner, situated 3 inches below the navel, this time visualising the chakra as a deep Orange ball of light and energy.

Next open the Solar-Plexus chakra in the same manner, situated within the Solar-Plexus, only this time visualising the chakra as a Yellow ball of light and energy, about twice the size of all the other chakra, as this is the largest and most powerful of all the chakra.

Next open the Heart chakra in the same manner, situated within the body over the heart, this time visualising the chakra over the heart as a Green ball of light and energy.

Next open the throat chakra in the same manner, situated within the voice box, this time visualising the chakra within the throat as an blue ball of light and energy.

Next open the brow chakra in the same manner, situated within the spiritual mind level with the brow, only this time visualising the chakra as a deep Indigo ball of light and energy.

Lastly open the crown chakra in the same manner, situated 1 to 2 inches above the head, this time visualising the chakra as a Violet ball of light and energy.

Closing the Chakra's

It is important to close the chakra's after any spiritual meditation or work, although the chakra's never fully close completely. This is done quite quickly by reversing the opening process, visualize each of the chakra as the open flower and then closing each of the chakra back into a tightly closed bud or as a lantern being turned down low, or if you preferred to open the chakra's like windows of the spirit and soul then close these windows. The reason for this is that if we do not close the chakra's on occasions they can remain open and we can end up walking about being able to pick up spiritual and psychic impressions all the time and this can include negative experiences, therefore for beginners it is always best to close the chakra's.

To Begin the Meditation

Keeping your eye's closed and in your third or minds spiritual or psychic eye, visualize a pinpoint of bright white light coming towards you from a far off distant place, in the beginning it is just a pinpoint of light, as it draws closer it grows in diameter and brightness. As the light comes toward you, send out a thought to those spirit guides, helpers and loved ones, asking them to help you through this portal of light up into the spiritual vibration where you can meet loved ones and guides. As the light brightens before you, you may feel love and peace emanating from it toward yourself and you might see a multitude of different colours coming from it...

You may feel yourself being drawn into the light, which acts like a tunnel or portal which you can pass through into a higher spiritual vibration and perceptions. Allow yourself to pass through this tunnel of light, you may find or have a perception that a spirit guide or helper is there with you helping and guiding you through this tunnel of light, however mostly for beginners this is not the case. If you cannot visualise the light not to worry, instead if you see darkness, then ask a spirit guide if they could bring a guiding light before you, this may be a candle or a lantern that you can visualise and follow and it is true to say that we have to allow our own imaginations to work with us, this helps spirit to then link in and use our imagination to give us the perceptions spirit wish to pass on to us, this is why those with good and open imaginations often find spirit much more readily.

When you come to the opening at the end of the tunnel, you will see before you a large country garden, with a path that leads to a ornamental pond, walk along the path toward the pond, looking about you to see all the many varieties of trees plants and flowers within the garden. Go to the pond and see if it has fish within it, it may also have a fountain or water fall at one end, spend a short time here. Near to the pond is a large old tree with a bench that is built around it, go over to the tree and sit down on the bench, now if you look off into the distance you will see that there are mountains far off that seem to have a purple hugh to them because they are covered with heather. Now relax on the bench and see if you can blend with the tree, as the tree itself has a spirit, see what you can notice about the tree. Travel in your mind up into the branches of the tree and see if you can perceive what abundant life there is in the tree such as the insects and birds that sit upon its branches. As you come back down try to see if the roots of the tree are they strong and well rooted or are they more exposed, this could give you a clue to how you are feeling.

Now remain sitting on the bench and once again look into the pond watch the fish swimming around it is almost hypnotizing and very relaxing, now in your mind ask that a spirit guide, loved one or helper might come and sit along side you on the bench and ask if it is possible to give you some understandings and awareness of their presence, often at first it is hard to see spirit and hard to hear them and what we often perceive is more of a subtle conception or comprehension in our minds of what spirit are wishing to say to us rather than hearing them and we may notice their energy around our physical body and face. On occasion we may see or be given objects that are given or shown to us by spirit that have an underlying symbolic meaning...

I.e. A feather might mean we have been or should be doing some writing. As you sit waiting for a guide or loved one in spirit to come forward you might notice that there is other life present within the garden nearby that you can see, both wild and domestic, it is possible that on occasion some of these animals may come up close to you and it is possible that you may have an animal guide of some kind within the garden. Spirit guides and helpers sometimes appear in their native earthly form and they can come from any period of time or culture from around the world and with those that have an affinity say with children then spirit guides may come as children to put us at ease in their company.

If it appears after sometime that a guide of some kind is not coming to you do not despair, simply relax and enjoy what there is to be seen within the garden, these things take time to develop. If a spirit loved one or Guide of some kind does appear or comes and sits next to you, then by all means speak with them, often it is they that will be present, but it is we that should ask if they are our spirit guide or helper before they will talk, as one of the concepts of spirit is that we should ask to receive spiritual guidance rather than a guide presuming we wish it, so they often leave it up to us to firstly ask them for their help. It is also possible if you are perceiving spirit to a good level that they in some way will ask or beckon you to leave the bench and go upon a journey or accompany you on a walk where you may meet others or find yourself conceiving other lands and places or dimensions and states of being. Also there may be lessons that are provided for us to learn from.

The second part of the meditation is once you are ready and comfortable with going to the garden you might look round and see several paths leading away from the garden, so it might be time for you to go upon journeys along these paths, if you have met your guide ask them to lead you to a path. These paths lead to many places, one might go to a tranquil lake with a lovely sandy shore, another might go to a water fall where you can cleanse yourself, another might go to a cave with gems on the wall and there is a hole in the cave roof letting a circle of light in and sitting under it is a wise man or woman, another might lead to a hilltop monastery where you can meet monks of all faiths, others might lead to anytime in the past and anywhere in the world, so it could be a North American Village or a Far Eastern Garden or anywhere else. When you take these paths you might meet more of your spirit guidance, they maybe standing close to you and not speaking to you, it is therefore up to you to make first contact and ask them if they are a spirit guide or helper or what they wish to show you.

To begin with a 15 to 30 minute meditation should be ample and either your guide should return you to the bench in the garden or if you are still on the bench at the end of your meditation, say thank you and goodbye to anybody you have met and say thank you to your spiritual guides and helpers. Then come back from wherever you are, back along the path, back through the garden and back through your tunnel of light, back within your body, see the light going away and becoming just a pinprick of light once more, then close all of your chakra energy centers...

Imagining them as the open flowers or windows then closing each one by seeing it going from the open flower back into the bud or the closed window, starting with the crown chakra until you have closed all seven chakra's down to the base chakra. Closing down will only take a few seconds to do, you do not need to see the colours or do the breathing exercises as you close the chakra's. Some people like to think of the chakra's as if they are opening or shutting a window within the soul, do as you feel most comfortable with. Then gently bring yourself around, have a stretch and drink of water if you need one and say a little closing prayer if you wish.
